Garden installation is a creative art that turns a simple open space into a beautiful and meaningful environment. Artist Kesu Das from Balasore is well known for his artistic garden installations that combine natural beauty with imaginative design. His work brings together art, nature, and environmental awareness, making every garden look unique and lively.
Concept and Design
Before starting any garden installation, Kesu Das first plans the overall concept. The design is often inspired by nature, festivals, culture, or environmental messages like “Save Trees” or “Go Green.” He creates layouts that balance plants, sculptures, lights, and pathways. His goal is to make a garden not only look beautiful but also peaceful and relaxing.
The concept may include elements such as stone sculptures, clay pots, flower beds, fountains, or decorative lighting. Every garden design has a theme — it could be a village-style garden, modern artistic garden, or eco-friendly green zone.
Materials Required
For creating a beautiful garden installation, many materials are needed:
Plants and Flowers: Indoor and outdoor plants, flowering plants, and grass.
Soil and Fertilizer: Good quality soil, compost, and manure for plant growth.
Decorative Items: Clay pots, planters, pebbles, stones, bamboo sticks, and artificial structures.
Lighting: LED garden lights, solar lamps, and decorative spotlights.
Water Features: Fountains, small ponds, or waterfalls for an aesthetic look.
Art Materials: Paints, cement, metal frames, and wood for making sculptures or decorative pieces.
Tools: Shovels, cutters, watering cans, measuring tape, and small garden tools.
Technology and Technique
Kesu Das uses both traditional and modern techniques in his garden installations. First, he studies the location — sunlight, space, and soil condition. Then he prepares the base by leveling the ground and laying soil. The plants are arranged based on color, height, and type to create visual balance.
He often includes artistic sculptures made of clay, metal, or cement to give the garden a unique identity. For lighting, he uses energy-efficient LED and solar lights to highlight special areas at night. Sometimes he adds sound features like soft water flow or wind chimes to make the environment more soothing.
Modern techniques like drip irrigation and automatic watering systems are also used in some large installations. These help in saving water and maintaining the garden easily.
Cost and Duration
The cost of garden installation depends on the size, design, and materials used.
Small Garden (Home or Balcony): ₹15,000 – ₹30,000
Medium Garden (Office or Park Area): ₹40,000 – ₹1,00,000
Large Artistic Garden (Public or Resort): ₹1,50,000 and above
The time required for installation may vary from 3 days to 3 weeks, depending on the complexity and number of decorative elements.
Conclusion
Garden installations by Kesu Das are not just about plants; they are about creativity, culture, and connection with nature. His artistic touch transforms ordinary spaces into peaceful green areas filled with life and beauty. Each installation reflects his vision of harmony between art and the environment, spreading the message that nature itself is the best form of art.
